Many helping hands make it easier to accomplish our goals

1

Ovacome of Tampa Bay, an Ovarian Cancer support and advocacy group, is looking for Directors and officers.  After reworking our By-Laws and various operations, we are ready to move forward.  We need professionals like you, who are out there in the business world and anxious to make a difference in the lives of people affected by a horrible disease.
Ovacome also advocates the need for research funding and the importance of early detection of this cancer in order to diagnose it when it is treatable instead of deadly.  When Ovarian Cancer is diagnosed early, a woman has a 93% chance of survival.  When it advances to stage two, the survival rate drops to 45%.  Only 25% of women diagnosed in the first stage!
As a grassroots, all volunteer, non-profit organization, Ovacome is making some great strides toward reaching some important goals, and now we need the help of an excited Board of Directors and officers to fill positions that patients and survivors have been filling in the past.  There are patients in Tampa Bay that need help, and many more women and doctors who need to be educated about early detection.  You can help make this happen!

If you are interested in being on the Board of Directors or an officer of Ovacome, please contact us at ovacometampa@yahoo.com or calling (813) 223-9108.  We will send you a packet of information and documents for your review, along with an application.

Also, on May 1st we will be holding an informational meeting for anyone interested in a volunteer position with Ovacome on the Board of Directors or as an officer.  Contact us at ovacometampa@yahoo.com for more information regarding this meeting.

Make a difference in the lives of women in Tampa Bay by joining us!
